Carl Berglund

Carl Albert Berglund, 91, of Denver died peacefully at the Oberon House with his son, Dave and daughter-in-law, Teresa by his side. Born on April 7, 1929.  He was the son of Carl H. and Vera V. (Colyd) Berglund. He married Eleanor Marcella Ramsauer on April 8, 1956.

Carl was a Colorado Native and attended North High School. At the age of 85 he was still planning high school reunions and managing their finances.

Carl joined the United States Army on August 15, 1951 and served in the Korean War until 1953.

Carl worked as an accountant, retiring from Hospital Shared Services. After retiring, he had a small side business keeping the books and doing tax returns for various family members and businesses. Carl was 86 when he retired from accounting.

Carl and Eleanor loved their three children, David Carl Berglund (Teresa) and family, Timothy Scott Berglund, and Diana Lyn Berglund-Sharpe (Greg) and family, their seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Carol) Berglund from Florida.  He is preceded in death by his brother Keith Berglund.

In 2016 Carl found his new Home at the Oberon House in Arvada. He made new friends and was well loved by his Oberon family.

Dave and Teresa would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Oberon House . Brenda Brown, Maria Szilagyi, Mark Kness, Shanna Schiele, Trina Suesz, Serigio Estrada, Cristy Ahl, Destiny Estes, Marisa Acosta, Carlota Pajaro, and all of the night and weekend staff for caring for and being a big part of our dad’s family.

Carl and his late wife Eleanor will be interred together on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:30pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80235, Staging Area 'B'. Due to attendance limitations, please contact Dave Berglund if you'd like to attend: berglunddave@gmail.com.
