Carl Russell 'Papa' Johnson

Carl Russell Johnson ""Papa,"" 56 years of age, of Denver, Colorado. Retired as an Assistant Chief after 32 years with the Denver Fire Department. Carl is survived by his wife Tina; his former spouse Kim Chavez; children Mellany (Johnny), Melissa, Shawn, Katrina; grandchildren Matilda and Grace; parents Chuck and Aileen Johnson; sisters Renae Massey, Colleen (Eric) Larsen, Casi (Jim) Doherty; numerous nieces and nephews; and the men and women of the Denver Fire Department. A Memorial Service for Carl will be held at 11:0am on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Denver First Church of the Nazarene, 3800 East Hampden Avenue, Englewood, Colorado. Memorial donations in Carl's honor are suggested to the Denver Fire Department's ""Hearts of Fire"" or the ""Orphans Fund"" at 2201 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80212.
