Carl G. Leetham, 61, passed away at his home in Lakewood on May 9th, 2021. Carl was born in 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Iris and George Leetham and grew up in Tooele, Utah. He and his wife Shari were married in the Ogden, Utah temple on September 11, 1987; they lived in Dutch John, UT; Montrose, CO; and moved to Denver, CO in 1997. Carl worked for over 40 years with the Bureau of Reclamation and the Department of the Interior before retiring in May, 2019.
Carl will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and summers spent camping and fishing with his family, riding his motorcycle, golfing, and hunting. He was committed to his family and church, and loved playing and sharing treats with his grandchildren. He loved his children and grandchildren and felt so blessed to have them all living nearby. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings; he particularly loved working with the children and youth. Carl was serving as Bishop at the time of his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Shari; son, Spencer (Allison); daughters, Amelia (Christian) and Kylie (Kayne); grandchildren, Calvin, Payton, Casey and Presley; his sister, Judy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Della; brother, Bill; brother-in-law, Kevin and niece, Morgan.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18th, from 6:30-8:30pm, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Please join the family anytime during these hours on Tuesday to help them remember and celebrate Carl's life.
To honor Carl's wishes, a Private funeral service will be held for his family, and will not be live-streamed. A private burial will be held at Golden City Cemetery.
