SEIERUP, CARL THEODORE Carl T. Seierup, 86, passed away March 20, 2004, in Denver, Colorado. Born April 20, 1917, in Loveland, Colorado, a son of Mary M. Garrett and Morris E. Seierup. He met Katherine I. Ish, (a graduate of North High in Denver) at a dance in Longmont, Colorado and they later married in April of 1938. A veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. He joined AT&T in Denver at the age of 21 and serviced junction boxes in Colorado and Wyoming. He was transferred to Port Angeles, Washington in 1955 where he resided for two years. He was then transferred to Ketchikan, Alaska in 1957, where he supervised the instillation of the first landlines in Southeast Alaska. He had a great interest in art, taking art classes while in Alaska, where he finished his Masters degree. While in Alaska he served as commisioner of Babe Ruth baseball. He then transferred to Dixson, CA., where he later retired in 1978, after 35 years of service with AT&T. Following his retirement, he settled and retired in Leeds, Utah, where at the time served as Mayor, and took up the sport of bowling with his buddies in Hurricane, Utah, while his wife cheered him on from behind in her wheelchair. Since his retirement in 1978, he has cared for his loving wife who has suffered with M.S. since 1968. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Katherine; three sons, Raymond G., of Denver; Tom B., of Ketchikan, Alaska; and Mike W., of Tracy, California; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and seven sisters. Visitation Friday, 11am-1pm, with Funeral services at 1 p.m., both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3201 South Parker Road. Interment, Loveland Cemetery.
