Carla Skoglund

Carla Skoglund passed away on August 16, 2013, at age 71, at Porter Hospice Residence after an eight-month struggle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, she is survived by her husband Louis D. Skoglund, her children Jill and Bruce (Rhiannon) Hollenbeck, and grandson Rhys Hollenbeck. Also survived by her step-children Peggy Skoglund, Gail (John) Jorgensen and step-grandchildren Cody and Erik Jorgensen. Carla was a caring, full-of-life person who enjoyed dancing and boating and who, prior to her cancer diagnosis in December 2012, was a long-time food pantry volunteer at the Action Center in Lakewood, CO, an active member of the Fitness Center at Arapahoe Community College, a bicyclist who regularly rode 300-400 miles per year, and a water skier. She was life's greatest blessing to her husband and family and will be greatly missed by them and her many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, on Saturday, August 24th at 10:30 AM. A private interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
