Carlos Barela Medina

Carlos Barela Medina was born in La Junta, Colorado on November 4, 1936 to Francisco Medina and Josephine (Barela) Medina, and passed away in Thornton, Colorado on March 21, 2017 at age 80. Carlos is survived by his daughter, Carrie Rodriguez and her husband Andre; his grandchildren Rashawn Matthew, Dominic Barrientos, Jr., Lillyana Rodriguez, Ashley Rodriguez and Andre Rodriguez; sisters, Josephine Atencio and Gloria Valverde, brothers Frank Medina, and Lou Medina and his wife Rita. His sister Mary Trujillo preceded him in death. The Graveside Service, with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force will be held at 3PM Friday, April 7th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, For those attending the service at Fort Logan, please arrive at Staging Area A by 2:45 PM. Following the Service, a reception will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 8651 Huron Street in Thornton.
