Carol Jean Kemp Barnes, 54, of Littleton, CO passed away at home on August 30, 2010 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, with her loving family at her side. Born November 16, 1955 in Wakeeney, KS, Carol graduated from the University of Kansas Pharmacy School in 1978 and has lived in Littleton for almost 20 years. She is survived by husband William Barnes; two sons Matthew and Blaine; her mother Teresa Kemp; two sisters Sandy (Wayne) Farlow and Cheryl (Duane) Prais; in-laws Barbara Barnes, Walt Barnes, Mary Barnes, Nancy (Phil) Clements; nieces and nephews Angela Boone, Sean, Will, and Jo Marie McAllister, and Teresa, Joseph and Emily Prais. Carol was preceded in death by her father Virgil Kemp, and in-laws Walter and Julia Barnes. Carol lived and loved for her children, husband, extended family and friends. She loved her work as a pharmacist at Craig Hospital and Swedish Medical Center; was an avid sports fan; and delighted in laughing, talking and playing cards (especially cribbage) with her large circle of family and friends. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, September 1, 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 2, 10:30 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 East Hampden Avenue, Cherry Hills Village. Visitation, services and burial will follow in Hill City, KS on Friday and Saturday.
