Carol Joyce Voeck Berry

February 29, 1936 — January 26, 2015

Carol Berry, 78, of Parker, Colorado, went home on January 26, 2015 with family by her side. Memorial Services celebrating Carol's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., February 7, 2015 at Southeast Christian Church, 9650 Jordan Road, Parker, Colorado. The family will receive visitors after the Memorial Service. Horan & McConaty Funeral Directors are assisting. Carol was the sole daughter of Kenneth and Verna Voeck. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin and grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Carol completed nursing school at West Suburban Hospital School of Nursing (""West Sub"") in Oak Brook, Illinois and worked as a nurse in the Chicago area. After moving to Denver, she had a long career in the Intensive Care Unit of Rose Medical Center followed by several years as a Recovery Nurse. Carol accepted Christ at the age of 14 years old and her faith carried her through many seasons of life. While living in Denver, she attended Bear Valley Church of Christ, Calvary Temple, and Southeast Christian Church. Carol loved the Lord and was the ultimate care-giver. She unselfishly served and cared for others throughout her life. She felt blessed through hardship, always maintaining that others were worse off. She felt called to nursing and believed nursing helped put life in perspective. Carol was loved by many, including three husbands who preceded her in death – John Craigie, Hansel C. Kennedy, and Richard Earl Berry. Each marriage expanded Carol's small family, and added more people who loved and cherished Carol. She is survived by her son, David Arthur Craigie, M.D., and wife Kym, of Castle Rock, Colorado; and by her daughter, Carol Lynn Fraser, and husband David, of Arlington, Texas; and by her granddaughter, Allyson Marie McClendon, and husband Bret, of Abilene, Texas; and by her granddaughter, Ellyn Quinn Craigie of Castle Rock, Colorado; and by her grandson, D. Carter Fraser Jr., of Arlington, Texas. Carol's grandchildren brought her great joy and she cherished each immensely. Carol loved her 'Kennedy Clan', her stepchildren, and other extended family. The truth is, Carol just loved everyone. She would tell you to go help someone less fortunate, appreciate the beauty of God's creation, listen to some good music, and eat more chocolate.
