Carol D. Grimes, 78, of Marco Island, FL, passed away unexpectedly October 1, 2007. He is survived by wife, Joan; his children Linda Grimes of Memphis, John and his wife Julie of Denver and Marsha Grimes and her children Auston and Michael Hoffman of Highlands Ranch; two brothers Homer (Barbara) and Merlin (Nelva); and many nieces and nephews. He was born in central Kansas and graduated from Ft. Hays State College in 1951. He enlisted in the US Air Force December 1951 and served as a Guidance Counselor for two years. He then accepted a Direct Commission and served an additional three years as a Medical Administrator attaining a rank of first Lieutenant. Part of his tour of duty asssigned him to Tokyo, Jampan where in 1956 Linda was born. He dischaged in 1957 and the famiy chose Denver as their home where in 1960 his life was blessed with Marsha and John in 1964. He founded Monarch Swimming Pools, Inc., which he owned and operated until he retired to Florida in 1991, and there he devoted many happy hours to his golf fame having his fifth Hole-In-One this summer and having his life unexpectedly ended on a golf course, his favorite habitat. He was a member of Saqui Lodge, Osborne, KS; a Life Member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Denver, Oreint of Colorado; and El Jebel Shrine of Denver.
