Carol Jo Tiedgen Groninger died on May 21, 2022. On her passing, we lost a unique and talented woman. Carol was the eldest child, born to Irven and Sylvia Tiedgen, on March 2, 1934, in Madison, Nebraska. She married Norman Groninger, in 1954 and they had been married nearly 61 years when he passed away, in 2015. She had been a resident of Centennial, CO for nearly 50 years.
Carol loved to cook, decorate, paint, travel, read, play bridge and socialize. She was blessed with a sharp mind and quick wit. Carol filled many professional roles in her life, but being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, were the most important to her. She was a lifelong volunteer, most recently volunteering at Our Father Children’s Learning Center, which she called her “Happy Place.” Carol’s faith in God and love of family and friends will sustain us.
Carol is survived by her son, Steven (Cindy), daughter, Jodi Krantz (Kurt), grandchildren, Kendra Wood (Dan), Kyle Krantz (Brittany) and Jordan Krantz. Also survived by her great grandchildren, Colton Wood and Amelia and Grayson Krantz. Carol leaves behind her sister, Jane Kivett (Keith) and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman, her brother, David Tiedgen and sister, Mary Beth Tiedgen McIntosh.
