Carol E. Hays

Carol Eleanor Nisser, 80, Denver, passed away peacefully at her home April 27, 2019. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Horan&McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122. Carol’s wishes are to be cremated and her ashes swept away by the mountain breeze at Mount Lindo.

​Carol was born September 24, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Peter and Hazel Nisser. Her family lived in Saint Paul Minnesota. Carol worked as the executive secretary at Embassy Suites for years.. Carol married Richard Hays on October 5, 1968 in Denver; and celebrated their 50th anniversary last October.

​Carol was active in many groups including Supper Club, Marry Mates, Geneva Basin Ski Patrol, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Volksmarching, YMCA and support of the 9news Health Fair every year.

​She loved Colorado and all of it’s crazy weather, from rain to shine you could often find Carol on a walk and enjoying the day. She dearly loved her friends and enjoyed going on hikes, walks, Rockies games, brunch, dinner or lunch. She was the pie baker and was sure to make sure everyone had a slice, or two. She took every opportunity to spend time with family and her three grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Carol loved life and was active in it. Her twinkling blue eyes and beautiful smile, her kindness and generous heart will always be remembered.

​She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter, Sharon and son-in-law Tim Dillon, Ft. Collins, Co., and their two children Ryan and Maggie. Daughter Diane and son-in-law Tony Morrissey, Aurora, Co., and their daughter Lauren.

​Carol is proceeded in death by her sister Nancy Kendall, brother Jim Nisser; and her parents Peter and Hazel Nisser.

Memorial Service at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Centennial (5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial CO 80122) at 10am. Reception to follow immediately after at Horan & McConaty Reception Center.
