Carol Maul passed away peacefully early December 14th, at the age of 92.
Carol Ann Hartman was born in Grand Island Nebraska on Nov. 2, 1930. She married John Sutera in St Joseph Mo. As a military wife, they were stationed in New Orleans, Seattle and Denver. They owned restaurants in Aurora, raising their children Mike, Ann and Mary, in the Morris Heights subdivision and St Pius X church family. For a time, the family lived in Maui HI. She continued great friendships with her Frontier Airlines, Continental (the Ex Cons) and Federal Express families.
Later, Carol married Lloyd Maul, where her family grew to include the Maul family, of Kiowa, and was blessed by adding 2 of Lloyd’s sons, Allan and Casper. The couple lived in Highlands Ranch, where she was a member of PEO, enjoying the camaraderie of women helping women with educational goals and other charitable causes. She volunteered at Hospice, Denver area Shelters, taught children to read and loved helping her ESL Korean lady friends. She was an avid reader and talented writer and made many friends in her Bridge and Writing Groups.
Through her life, and with many friends and family members, she traveled through a fair amount of this wonderful world, taking in the sights, people and cultures along the way. Her dear friends and family are scattered in the UK, Germany, S. Korea and from coast to coast in America. She made new friends at Lincoln Meadows, in Parker, where she was always part of a card game, or afternoon chat, later residing at Tender Care in Denver.
Carol is survived by daughters, Ann and Mary, 2 stepsons, 12 nieces and nephews, 9 grands and 16 great grands. She was received in heaven by her Creator along with her beloved husband, Lloyd, son Mike, and her infant son, Paul, who died at birth. She will be missed. She considered herself very, very blessed and we were all blessed to be loved by her. There are no services scheduled at this time. Please honor her by doing random acts of kindness, as she always did or consider donating to one of her favorite educational funds at peointernational.org . (Cottey College was her favorite!)
Please share memories of Carol and condolences with her family by signing the Tribute Wall above.
