Centennial resident Carol McGrady, 77, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Carol was born on December 24, 1944 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, the daughter of Ed and Rita Tempel Wallis. She was a graduate of St. Francis De Sales High School in Denver. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado as well as a Master’s Degree from the University of Denver. Carol worked as a Kindergarten and ESL teacher at Traylor Elementary for over 20 years.
Carol was united in marriage to Eddie McGrady on May 13, 1967, and they shared a happy and loving union for 51 years prior to his passing in 2019. They were blessed with two children, four grandchildren, and outstanding friends. Carol enjoyed traveling, puzzles, reading, praying the rosary, and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her son Matthew McGrady (Shannon) of Centennial, Colorado, daughter Susan Romero (Jamie) of Lone Tree, Colorado, as well as grandchildren: Tyler McGrady, Tiffany Campbell (Brent), Samantha Romero, and Mia Romero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Rita Wallis and her husband Eddie McGrady.
A funeral Mass will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial on February 28, 2022 at 11am. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held prior to the Mass at 10:15am. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
