Carol Lee Petty

Carol L. Petty passed away at home May 25, 2010. She was born January 12, 1933 in Muncie, IN to Clarence and Lois Ann Piepho. Carol graduated from the University of Colorado in 1954 and was a technician at Bonfils Blood Center prior to her career as a volunteer and ""domestic engineer."" She married Thomas L. Petty on August 7, 1954. Carol was a volunteer at the University Hospital Gift Shop for over 40 years. She was active in party politics, Pi Beta Phi and enjoyed Ikebana flower arranging. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Petty, MD and is survived by daughter, Caryn (Jonathan) Winkler, Austin & Robyn Winkler of Centennial; son, Thomas W. Petty and Melissa, Amelia & Quinn Petty of Denver; son, John (Gina) Petty and Christopher, Kate & Julia Petty of Durango. Carol was a life-long volunteer. In lieu of donations, the family would like you to donate your time to a special charity. Funeral Services will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E.
