Carol Hilton Prusse

Carol Hilton Prusse, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on December 20, 2013, at age 89. She was the second of seven children born to Wilford B. and Vera Snow Hilton on July 12, 1924, in Delta, Utah. She graduated from Delta High School in 1942 and from Brigham Young University in 1947, later that same year marrying Walter H. ""Pete"" Prusse. Pete and Carol moved nine times during his career with Continental Oil Company, landing in Denver in 1970 where they remained the rest of their lives. Carol is survived by her five children, Ellen P. Timmreck, Roger K. Prusse, Garn H. Prusse, Joan H. Prusse and her husband, Robert E. Musgraves, and Brian G. Prusse and his wife, Kelly Pearce-Prusse, along with her 10 grandchildren, Ben Timmreck, Chad Timmreck, Julie Timmreck, Melissa Barnett, Christopher Prusse, Courtney Prusse, Jason Prusse, Annaliese Prusse, Hannah Prusse, and Carlyn Prusse, and her eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Lora Whiting, Dawn Porter, W. Bruce Hilton, and Lael Lovell. She was predeceased by her husband, Pete, her parents, two of her brothers, Clesse S. Hilton and H. Gill Hilton, and her son-in-law Thomas C. Timmreck. Carol was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked for many years at the Beehive Clothing at the LDS Denver Temple, using her college major skills of clothing and textiles and business administration. She served in many church positions as well as performing other volunteer work, she enjoyed her family and friends, and was an avid and accomplished seamstress and cook. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 6601 S. Havana St. in Greenwood Village, CO. Viewing will be immediately prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. The family will also be receiving those who wish to pay their respects at Horan & McConaty, 11500. E. Dartmouth Ave. (at S. Parker Road) from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Following the services, Carol will be interred at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
