Carol K Staelin

Carol Jane Keeney Staelin was born in Denver, CO on April 3, 1948. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Carol was active in grade school student counsul and was elected Student Body President of her Junior High School. She graduated 10th out of 1132 in her graduation class at Abraham Lincoln High School in 1966. She was voted 'Most likely to Succeed' at her graduation. She graduated from Smith College in Northampton, MA in 1970, with a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Music; minor in English). In college she had four part-time jobs and a heavier than average number of classroom hours. One of the part-time jobs was paid 'Student Conductor' pf the Glee Club. Another part-time job was paid soloist at various churches. Carol received a scholarship to go on a singing tour of Europe with the Smith-Princeton Chamber Singers. After working as an instructor at the Toledo Museum of Arts in Toledo, Ohio, she married Earl Staelin on March 23, 1973 and entered the University of Toledo, School of Law the same year. She graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1977, the practiced law in Ohio until 1981, After moving to Austin, Texas in 1981, Carol and Earl started a law firm and adopted the son, Vijay. Carol contracted cancer in 1992, but overcame it promptly using holistc methods. She and Earl divorced in 1995. Carol and Vijay moved to Denver shortly thereafter, and 1998 Carol established her own business int e Holistic Health Care field, where she was highly successful; her main objective was always to serve and help her many clients. Her cancer reoccurred again in 2003 and spread rapidly. She fought hard, but finally became exhausted and waited eagerly to 'Go Home to her Lord' Carol passed September 16, 2005. She is survived by her beloved son Vijay, her devoted mother Helen Keeney, her dear brother James (Marie) Keeney and numerous relatives and friends.
