Carol Louise Trainor-Eyerman died on May 26, 2023. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, Fred, one brother, John, four sisters, Kathy Boggie and Jodee Trainor of Denver, Mary (and Tony) Allen of Gunnison, and Margaret (Maggie) (and Bob) Sauer of Durango. She also leaves behind John’s son, Jeff, Kathy’s children (Sarah (and Brian) Howley and Matt (and Michelle) and their children), and Mary’s children (Angie, A.J. and Max).
Carol was born in LaJunta, CO on April 25, 1938. Her family moved to Denver, from Sugar City, CO, when she was still a young child. Carol graduated from Cathedral High School in 1958 and then entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Dayton, Ohio. As Sr. Mary Rose Ellen, she taught elementary education in Cincinnati, Dayton and Wapakoneta, Ohio and then left the order and returned to Denver in 1967. In Denver, Carol taught at five Catholic elementary schools - Cure d’Ars, Christ the King, St. Anne (Arvada), St. Rose of Lima, and Most Precious Blood. It was at Most Precious Blood that “Mrs Eyerman,” as she was addressed by students and parents alike, ended her 50 plus year teaching career.
Carol loved people, teaching, art and service! In between teaching times, Carol finished her degree at the Colorado Institute of Art, volunteered and lived one year, with Fred, at the Samaritan House Homeless Shelter in a special service program, presented at several Mile Hi Religious Education Congresses, directed the Archdiocesan Media Center, and helped many new and experienced teachers get a firm foundation on their craft. Carol was loved for her warmth and her quick wit, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She and Fred lived at Windsor Gardens when she died.
Her memorial services will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, June 5th at 7pm. The memorial Mass and Reception will be held on Tuesday, June 6th at 10am.
