Carol Anne was born on April 1,1947 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was an April Fools' baby; a fact that her brother, William Jr. never failed to remind her of throughout both their lives. Carol Anne entered the hospital in Parker, Colorado on Thanksgiving afternoon; Thursday, November 25th, and passed from this life into eternity three days later on Sunday, November 28, 2021. She was the first of three children born in the union between U.S. Air Force Master Sargent William W. Wright Sr. and Ruby L. Wright.
Carol grew up in a multi-generation home with her brothers, mother, aunts, and her maternal grandmother and grandfather. Because of her close relationship with her grandparents, Carol developed a deep spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age. She attended Wyman Elementary School, Morey Junior High School, and graduated from Manual High School. Carol attended California State University in Los Angeles, and obtained a BA degree in Music.
Carol Anne lived and grew up near the City Park in Denver, Colorado. As a result, she spent a lot of time at the Museum of Natural History and the Zoo. Because of these experiences, she later developed a love for Opera and the Ballet. As an adult, Carol moved to Los Angeles where she really began to nurture her appreciation for the Arts.
Carol moved to California in 1967 where she lived for 53 years. During those years she met and became friends with many wonderful people through both her church and her employment. Carol was a very active member of Crenshaw Christian Center for over 50 years, singing in the choir and serving on the Bereavement Committee to name a few. She was an employee of AT&T for over 46 years. Employees there became her adopted family away from home as they watched over her as closely as they did with members of their own families. She often attempted to increase their interest in the Arts in the hope they might develop the same love for them that she had. She did this by offering free tickets to operas and ballets. Usually, these attempts were only met with success the first few times. Fortunately for her, the church had a large congregation as was the large number of her cohorts at AT&T.
Carol spent the last year of her life in Colorado living at Chelsea Memory Care where she was taken care of by loving hands and treated with the utmost respect. Carol was well liked by all who knew her. Carol Anne is survived by her two brothers, William Jr. (Carol S.), and Richard (Wynona), aunts, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
