Carolyn Roberts Byrne January 18, 1913- March 31, 2009 Carolyn was born in New Rochelle, New York and moved to Denver in 1943 with her husband, Francis X. Byrne. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survived by her four children, Carolyn Kemp (Bill), Richard Byrne (Karen), Francis X. Byrne, Jr. (Julia), and Michael Byrne (Vicki), grandchildren Russell Kemp, Elizabeth Kemp Herrera, Kevin Byrne, Eric Byrne, and Francis X. Byrne III, Sean Byrne-Coll, Katherine Byrne, Jennifer Byrne, and great-grandchildren Ariana Kemp, Isabella Kemp, Miles Herrera, Cody Herrera, Reid Byrne, Regan Byrne, Caroline Byrne, and Blythe Byrne. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her granddaughter, Kristin Byrne. Longtime member of Daughters of the American Revolution and attended Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. New York State Jr. Tennis champion in 1931, ranked #1 Womens' tennis on the east coast in 1932, and ranked in Colorado for many years thru 1995. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, with a rosary at 6:30 PM, Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Funeral Mass 9:30 AM Saturday, Christ the King Catholic Church, 830 Elm St. Memorials may be made to Regis University, 3333 Regis Blvd., Denver, CO 80221, or Colorado Youth Tennis Foundation, 3300 E. Bayaud Ave., Ste. 201, Denver, CO 80209.
