Carolyn “Connie” Faye Demoney Slaven
Born July 4, 1932 passing on June 20, 2023
In her 91st year.
Connie was born at home and delivered by a local midwife in the town of Bennett, Colorado. Her parents were Charles Lewis Demoney and Margaret Alice (Steele) Demoney. She was the youngest of 7 girls until her baby brother, Chuck arrived 7 years later. Her life was spent in Bennett, Fairplay and Derby (Commerce City), Colorado with a short time in Renton, Washington. She graduated from Adams City High School in December of her Senior year.
She married Patrick Bernard Slaven on October 28, 1950. Born to Connie and Pat are three daughters – Alice Marie, Catherine Faye and Patricia Ann.
After Pat’s death in 1995, she moved to Windsor Gardens in 1997, to enjoy the peaceful lifestyle and golf nearly every day. Within the year of this move, she met a fellow golfer, Lin Cook, who became her second love.
She moved herself to assisted living when her health declined (surviving lymphoma ). With the COVID pandemic and the tight lock down at the facility, her mental health began to decline. She was assisted in a move to a memory care unit where she resided until October of 2022. Her last home was a smaller residential care home, where eventually, she required the skills of palliative care, followed by hospice care. She died peacefully and comfortably in the early evening of June 20, 2023.
Connie was an accomplished runner, snow skier, gardener, golfer and bowler. She enjoyed being active and involved with her community at Windsor Gardens. She was a member of:

As a Christian family we believe that the Christ’s promise is ever lasting life and know that her soul resides in a different universe called heaven. We rejoice in her opportunity to dress in fine gowns, wear red lipstick and nail polish and put her hair up, so she can dance the night away in splendor with those she loves.
