Carolyn Stewart Hawley

Carolyn Stewart Hawley, 81, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away February 27, 2020. She was born December 14, 1938 in Aurora, Utah to John Riley and Mayda Christiansen Stewart.

Carolyn and her family lived on a farm and was the second to youngest child out of 7 children. In high school, she was President of the Girl's Club (she ran for two different elections, won both but was only allowed to choose one). She married the love of her life Charles Hawley on November 22, 1957. After Charles joined the Air Force, Carolyn supported this decision, and moved their small family from base to base every 2-3 years, while staying involved in church callings and raising her daughters in the LDS faith. Once the kids were old enough, she worked in office management and was a leader of the TOPS club.

Carolyn was always humble about her accomplishments and valued her family above all else. She had a fun sense of humor and when her daughters would say something for ""shock value,"" she'd have an even better response that would leave everyone rolling with laughter. But above all else, she was PURE LOVE, and a beautiful example of kindness and acceptance.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Charlyn Jensen, Cynthia Laff and Camille Richards; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John D. Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hugh Hawley on June 22, 2016, along with her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

A Funeral service will be held at 9:00am, on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at The Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. A viewing will be the hour prior to the service.

A Graveside service will be at 11:15am – 11:35 in area ‘C', at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 So. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO.
