Carolyn Louise Noonan

June 9, 1939 — January 15, 2024

Carolyn Louise Noonan, 84, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024, in Lone Tree, Colorado, where she had moved in recent years to be near family.

Carolyn was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 1939 to Gertrude and Erwin Sattelmeier.  She attended Grosse Pointe High School before proudly graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Business Administration. She met her husband, Terrence Armstrong Noonan of Cincinnati, on a blind date before her senior year in college. The two quickly fell in love and were married on January 27, 1962. Carolyn and Terry raised two sons, Thomas John Noonan and Michael Armstrong Noonan, who clearly meant the world to them both. With Terry’s business career, they lived in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and eventually California. With her warm heart and friendliness, Carolyn made lifelong friends in each location. After Terry’s death in 2010, she ultimately moved to be near her son Tom in Colorado. Though she gradually succumbed to Parkinson’s disease, she was still able to enjoy wonderful family time in her last years.

Although Carolyn loved her many friends, bridge, golf and tennis throughout her life, there was nothing that she loved more than her family, including her two sons and her beloved five grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Terry, her parents Trude and Irv, and her sister Judy. She is survived by her sons Tom (Pam) and Mike (Melissa); her five grandchildren Armstrong, Carr, Caroline, Katherine, and Ally; her sister Bonnie (Jim), Judy’s husband Dave, and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss her greatly.

A private celebration of life will be held on the evening of January 27th at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Michigan.
