Carolyn Sims

Carolyn Sims July 30, 1933 – November 6, 2015 Carolyn Sims was born July 30th, 1933 in Greenville TX. She was the eldest of three children born to Marjorie and Thomas Cowan. She married Andrew W. Sims on January 17th, 1959 and they spent their early years traveling around the world with the United States Air Force, and raising their 4 children, Debbie, Thomas, Robert, and Amanda. In 1978 they retired in Aurora, CO and Carolyn worked for Colorado National Bank until her retirement in 1986. Carolyn was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Carolyn went home to our Lord and Savior on November the 6th, 2015. After suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for 4 years she is finally at peace. It really shouldn't surprise anyone that she did things exactly the way she wanted - in the end she was able to come home and spend her final days on earth with her husband Andy. Carolyn's battle with Alzheimer's was blessedly swift and we know that in her heart she believed that this was the Lord's plan for her and that her life and death served a greater purpose for His plan for her family. A service for Carolyn will be held at Horan & McConaty in Aurora CO on November 11 at 3:30 pm with a gathering to follow at the same location.
