Carolyn Elise Wallisch, 78 years of age of Littleton, Colorado passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Porter Hospice. She was born August 23, 1939 in Denver Colorado to Margaret and Morgan White. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darrell, her son Michael, daughter in-law Syd and their son Bailey, and her daughter Kerri and son in-law Rob Kristufek. Teacher, principal, educational consultant and life-long âleader of the pack,â Carolyn graduated from UNC in a day when women were just beginning to think about tapping against the glass ceiling. She shepherded the young minds of yesterday, stewarding their growth in later years as both a dean and then a principal of several well-established Colorado institutions. A steadfast Tri Sigma Sorority âgirlâ from 1958, she served from 2006-2009 as President of the Denver Alumni Chapter. Tri Sigma recently honored her years of service by establishing a scholarship in her memory. An avid supporter and member of Pinehurst Country Club, she was the first female board member elected, since the Clubâs founding in 1958. Carolyn was also a member of St. James Presbyterian Church for many years and served the churchâs community as a deacon. Devoted mother, sister, aunt and cousin, Carolyn remained a staunch champion of the familyâs cause. As a friend, she always carried a smile, a wave, kind words and a helpful hand, as well as time and energy for those around her. An enthusiastic golfer, Darrell her perennial coach, she also enjoyed tennis and the outdoors. She traveled the Americas and World; having the privilege to visit most of the continents on the planet. Her energy, vibrancy and presence will sorely be missed. Writer Bryon Katie said it best, âMy experience is that the teachers we need most are the people weâre living with right now.â Carolyn was such a teacher. If we can only remember and act upon the dignified lessons she gave us, this world will continue to blossom and flourish. A Memorial Service will be held on March 31, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church 3601 W. Belleview Ave. Littleton, CO 80123. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church in Littleton, CO or Porter Hospice at the Johnson Center in Littleton, CO.
