Carolyn Elizabeth Widmann passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Monday, July 23, 2018 in Denver, Colorado.
Carolyn was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 8, 1928. She attended East High School in Denver and remained in Denver to raise two children and work at the family business, Golden Bell Press. Carolyn was an enthusiastic golfer and was named Heather Gardens Women's Club Champion for fourteen years between 1982 and 2000. She was also a talented cook, a classical pianist, an expert bridge player and a knitter extraordinaire.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, William and Erna Welp; brother, Herbert Welp; and husband, Walter F. Widmann.
Carolyn is survived by her loving partner, Thomas McSherry; her daughter, Susan McCuistion and husband, James; her son, Lawrence Bell and wife, Nancy; her niece, Carrol Jenkins and husband, Rick; three granddaughters, Laura, Andrea and Chrissy; and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by her step-children, Carolee Wise, and husband, Tom; Steven Widmann and wife, Rita, and Michael Widmann and wife, Sue; as well as their children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:30 PM in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO, 80014. A committal and graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Fairmount Cemetery, Denver.
