Catherine Frances Beam, 72, of Lakewood, passed away on June 9, 2018. Catherine grew up in Bodega Bay, CA and the El Cerrito, CA. She graduated from Red Rocks Community College in 1994 with an AA. She then went on to attend Metropolitan State University, in Denver in 1997 obtaining a BA degree in anthropology and history, Summa Cum Laude. She worked as an Office Manager at Admi Furniture Rental, then before her retirement in 2009, she worked as a bookkeeper with Premier Specialty Contractors until her retirement in 2009. She volunteered at the Lakewood Heritage center for over 13 years and was recognized with the Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2010. She has many interests and engaged in a variety of enriching activities. She truly enjoyed traveling to many places around the world, that included Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Mexico and other central American counties and many countries in Europe, including Italy, France, Austria and recently cruised around Iceland and Norway. She also enjoyed camping and taking road trips to visit the many historical sites, museums and National parks throughout America. She loved to read and enjoyed making and designing her own unique line of beaded jewelry. She loved to garden and tended many plants both inside and outside and enjoyed photographing the many wildflowers of Colorado. She had a great interest in learning about the prehistory of the American Southwest, and visiting many of the prehistory native American sites in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. She is survived by her husband, Earl Beam, her sons, James R. Mueller and Michael W. Cole and her beloved terrier Maggie Mae. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
