Catherine Park Haney, born 21 October 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed on May 2"d at age 100 in her home in Roxborough Park with her family by her side..
Daughter of Edward Lawrence and Ellen Park, Catherine attended the University of New Mexico, becoming a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Following a dream, she joined United Airlines as a stewardess in 1941. She soon found her soulmate in a dashing young Army Air Corp pilot, just back from the South Pacific, and they were married on August 20, 1943. That led to 73 amazing years of marriage filled with travel and adventure around the world, from China to Germany and cris-crossing the United States courtesy of the US Air Force. Catherine was the ideal hostess, opening her home to all. She loved to shop and filled her home with items from their travels. She will be remembered by her kindness and graciousness and love given to many.
She is survived by her son Park (Mary) Haney, daughter Michele Haney; grandchildren, Erick Burke, Emily (Shawn) Hughes , John (Claudia) Haney, Michael Haney, Reed Haney; great-grandchildren, Jack Haney and Finn Hughes, Oriane, Otto and Orestes Burke. She also had special nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
She will be buried at Ft Logan along side her husband.
