Cecil Lee Johnson was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma on September 16, 1939, and died at 82 in his home in Arvada, CO on July 5, 2022. Cecil proudly served in the Navy for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1960. He met the love of his life, Loretta and they were married in 1961 and settled in Arvada raising their 3 children, April, Alan, and Brent. Cecil Joined the Denver Fire Department in 1969 and retired as a Captain after 34 years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, shooting, and riding his dirt bike in the mountains. He loved being outdoors and enjoying God’s magnificent creation and always marveled at His creation's majesty and intricate design. Cecil loved his family dearly and didn’t take lightly his role as a husband, father, grandfather, provider, and protector. He always stood firm on his Christian beliefs and was directed by these foundational principles daily. He is survived by his wife Loretta, their sons Alan & Brent, daughter-in-law Kristie, son-in-law Dave, 6 grandchildren (Brandon, Brooke, Taylor, Hailey, Nicole, and Brian), and 2 great-grandchildren (Kyliana and Arlo). He was preceded in death by his daughter, April.
There will be a graveside service at Ft. Logan Nation Cemetery on July 26th at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow from 2:45-4:15 pm at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227.
