Cecilda Cabrera Gomez

To our beloved mother and grandmother, Cecilda was born in Tacamara, Holguin, Cuba and raised a great family there, in Spain and Colorado. She passed peacefully at The Brookshire House on December 18 surrounded by her loving family. She lived a long and productive life and had just celebrated her 101st birthday on Friday. At times of turmoil, we could always rely on her peaceful, patient and happy nature. She was beloved by all whom came in contact with her. She so enjoyed beautiful flowers and looked forward to visiting the gardens at Washington Park. Cecilda is now watching over us, so let us not mourn her passing, but celebrate her long life and the many wonderful memories we have of her. Words just cannot express how much she will be missed. She will be in our hearts forever! Cecilda is survived by her five children, daughters Nelida, Nelfa and Nelsi and her sons Jose and Joaquin. She is also survived by a loving extended family that includes numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She now joins her beloved husband, Jose, in Heaven and in the Loving Arms of God. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at South Parker Road) in Aurora.
