Cecilia Kuntz

Cecilia Kuntz, 90, of Brighton, CO, died on December 3rd in Denver, CO. Cecilia was born in Richardton, ND on September 25, 1922 to Fred and Mary (Zentner) Schubert. As a young lady, Cecilia traveled several times by train to California to help her sisters with their children. While she was there, she also worked repairing and sewing uniforms for the Army. Cecilia met George Kuntz in 1941 and later married in 1945. While George was in the Navy, they lived in Mobile, AL, Biloxi, MS, Orange, TX, and Long Beach, CA. Cecilia met and became very dear friends with another sailor's wife. They kept each other company while the ""boys"" were at sea and remained friends for life. Cecilia and George lived on a farm near Belfield, ND until 1972 when they moved to Brighton, CO and lived until her death. George passed away in 2001 after 55 years of marriage. She enjoyed fishing and camping with George in the Colorado mountains and made her fall trip to the mountains every year to see the aspens change. Cecilia loved to crochet and was very crafty. She made numerous afghans for her family. She loved to be around small children... her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cecilia is survived by her children, Nick (Nita Miller) of Vancouver, WA, Ken (Clarine) of Boulder, CO, Dale (Diane) of Cameron, SC, Georgette (Louis) Dorval of Dickinson, ND, Jeff (Sue Nye) of Indialantic, FL, Rene (Tunie) Ortega of Brighton, CO, Bennette (Brian Tooley) of Bend, OR, Lynette (Bob) Baumgartner of Brighton, CO; daughter-in-law, Rosie (Ed) Jacobson of Dickinson, ND; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Roy (Shirley) Schubert of Richardton, ND; sister, Dolores (Reinhard) Godes of Dickinson, ND; 2 brothers-in-law; and 5 sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Gary; daughter-in-law Patty; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11 am. All services will be held at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 675 East Egbert Street, Brighton, CO. Internment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO on Monday at 3 pm. Cecilia will forever be cherished by her family and her smile will be greatly missed. Let her rest in peace.
