Taken way too soon, Chandler Robert Diack, age 36, passed away on November 28, 2022.
Chandler had a big heart and a big smile. Once you met him, it was hard to forget him. He will be remembered as his funny, kind, charming, charismatic self. A true Colorado kid, he was born and raised in Denver, loved playing and watching sports and being outdoors. His family spent many a day going to his baseball games when he was young. After playing competitive baseball for several years, he began umpiring, sometimes with his Dad, and he loved it. Turns out he was really good at it, too, and had aspirations of becoming a professional umpire. He graduated from Cherry Creek High school and worked in construction most of his adult life.
Chandler fought and ultimately lost a 20+ year battle with addiction. He tried many times to get clean and then stay clean, but the demons just kept coming back. No one will ever know the true depth of his suffering, but we do know that he touched many, many people on his journey, despite how he suffered.
He had a daughter, Evelynn, and a son, Beau, several years apart, neither of whom got to be with Chandler very much and see the great love he had for them deep in his heart. We know that he loved each of their Moms (Erin, also deceased, and Megan) fiercely. What we don’t know is how things could have been different had these beautiful children gotten a chance to really know and love him.
Chandler’s Mom, Valerie, and his Dad, Bob, both made many sacrifices and advocated valiantly for Chandler’s wellbeing throughout his life. His sister, Casey, adored her older brother and loved him to the depths of her soul. They knew the real Chandler best.
In addition to his parents and sister, he will be missed terribly by his stepmom, Rhonda, who has been on this journey with Chandler for many years, his brother-in-law, Talon, his two nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Chandler Diack Memorial Fund. Donations can be made here: https://gofund.me/2d964b9b
