Charlene Branch

A loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Charlene Marie (Shoop) Branch died peacefully at the age of 83 on Thursday, August 13, 2020, after a brief illness.

Born on October 7, 1936, in Casper, Wyo., to Floyd Lewis Shoop and Lucy Ellen Wilson Shoop, Charlene grew up in Midwest, Wyo., where she graduated from Midwest High School in 1954.  She attended the University of Wyoming and then completed beauty school in Denver, Colo.

She married William Sidney Branch on June 16, 1957, in Casper. Charlene and Bill raised their family in Nebraska and Colorado. The last 46 years were spent in Littleton, Colo., where she worked for Jefferson County School District.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bill, and their children: Diana (Bret) Jeans of Streetman, Texas; DeEtta Chagnon of Littleton, Colo.; Nancy (David) Hurt of Loveland, Colo.; and Michael (Heidi) Branch of Leesburg, Va.  Also surviving are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren:  Jeffry Jeans, Jennifer (Ryan) Anderson, Christopher (Angela) Jeans, Michael (Megan) Butcher, Lisa Horinek, Nicholas (Samantha) Chagnon, Victoria Hurt, Nathaniel Hurt, Stephanie Hurt, Michaela Branch, Noelle Branch, Allison Branch, Katelyn Horinek, Jocelyn Horinek, and Sebastian Butcher.

She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law DeEtta and Larry Burgess of Phoenix, Ariz., and her sister-in-law Mardee Shoop of Fort Collins, Colo., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Shoop, sister and brother-in-law Lois and Jim Russell, and sister Nancy Eychaner.

A Celebration of Life Event will be held at a future date.
