Charles Robert ""Chuck"" Banning

Charles Robert “Chuck” Banning, age 67, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on August 14, 2018.

Chuck was born in Gary, Indiana, on June 6, 1951 to Forrest & Bertha (Eriks) Banning. Chuck played football and ran track in high school and after graduating, he attended Indiana State where he played football as well. Chuck was a well-respected real estate appraiser for many years for Core Logic and was a member of the Colorado Board of Real Estate.

Chuck was a committed Christian, attending Rockland Community Church, and was the AV Director at the church for a period of time. His faith laid the ground for his gentle, caring ways, and overall, he was just the best guy, unless perhaps he was pulling one of his many jokes. His smile was contagious.

In his free time, when Chuck wasn’t hosting a family gathering, you would likely find him on his boat at Chatfield Reservoir with his family. He also enjoyed grilling and cooking with his wife, Susan at his side. Chuck was an avid sports fan following baseball, racing and the Broncos. He could also be found with the greatest gadgets and latest in technology. Most recently, Chuck took up brewing his own beer and became passionate about his new hobby – owning and flying his two drones.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan Hutchinson Banning; children, Jonathan Banning, Jeff (Sharron) Banning, Jay Banning, Bethanie (Derek) Boerger, and Julia (Brian) Jackson; grandchildren, Cherise Banning, Jaylene Banning, Bryce Banning, Kayce Boerger, and Hazel Jackson; mother, Bertha Banning; siblings, David (Jackie) Banning. Bruce (Donnia) Banning, Brian (Jill) Banning, Barbara (John) Bargefeldt, and James Banning; and many nieces and nephews. Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Forrest Banning; and uncle, Morris Banning. His pups were his second family; he is survived by Roxy and preceded in death by, Lily.

Memorial Services honoring Chuck will be Sunday, August 19, 2018, beginning at 3:30 PM, at Rockland Community Church, 17 South Mount Vernon Country Club Road, in Golden, Colorado 80401.
