Charles R. ""Charlie"" Bryant

July 18, 1950 — January 28, 2018

Celebrating the Life of Charles Richard Bryant The Early Years Charlie was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Charles Walter Bryant and Alice Theresa Bryant. He had three siblings Linda, Donald, David (deceased). He was raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela by his father, until he was 12 years old when he returned to the US to live with his mother. His formal education ended in the 6th grade. He worked several jobs, one of which was as a fireman/fire watch at the oil refinery. His life became much more exciting when he was 19 years old. He married Cheryl, began working as a baker for Safeway Inc, and had his first son, Rick. He had his second son, Brian, at the age of 21. Charlie loved cars, motorcycles, and tinkering with anything mechanical. He was often seen working on his own car or underneath someone else's. The Middle Years Charlie continued to work at Safeway Inc. as a baker. He enjoyed watching sports like boxing, drag racing'in fact almost any kind of auto racing would be on the TV on weekends, but he made trips to Bandimere, the Colorado National Speedway, and Riverside Speedway in California. During this time his 3rd son Michael was born. He married Ellen, his second wife. His eldest two sons left to live their adult lives. He made many life long friends. The Late Years Charlie kept his life exciting. His 4th son, Alex, was born when he was 43 years old. He retired from Safeway Inc. after 35 years as a baker. He spent much of his time watching Alex grow into a fine young man and playing sports. He also had a wild side, in which he spent time with his friends, especially his best friend Roland (whom he considered a brother) riding motorcycles, drinking and other shenanigans which are not fit to print. He was a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, a great grandfather, a friend, a best friend, a father-in-law, an ornery man, a funny man, and a good man. He lived the last few years of his life for his sons, who knew him as Dad, Daddy, and Pop. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado, with a reception to follow.
