Charles "Chuck" Zornes, age 73, born and raised in Panama and the Canal Zone, passed away early Saturday morning, August 3, 2024. Chuck graduated high school in 1970 and shortly after married Maria "Carmen" Castillo. After they wed, he joined the Navy and served our country from 1970 - 1974 on the U.S.S. Orion. After the Navy, Chuck and Carmen moved to Colorado where Chuck worked for Jefferson County Road and Bridge for over 30 years.
Chuck loved fishing, trying new food, doing crossword puzzles, and football! His favorite pastime was a good ole BBQ with family and friends. Chuck was the son of Roy and Myrna Zornes and is survived by his three brothers Thomas, Richard and Robert Zornes. Chuck's memory lives on through his wife Carmen, his daughter Cherie Lucio, his son Carter Zornes and his two grandchildren, Angelina and Jaylen Lucio.
We will celebrate the life of Chuck at Horan and McConaty in Arvada (7577 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80003) on Monday, August 12th. His viewing will be 10:00am -11:45am and services beginning at 12:00pm. The family would like to invite you to a family BBQ at their home after the service. Please contact the family for an address.
