Charles Douglas Dana, âDougâ was born on April 29, 1939 and died on his 81st birthday in 2020. Charlesâ wife, Julie Sherriff, passed in 2015 after over 8 years of marriage where Doug loved and cared for his wife who in her last final days had dementia.
Doug loved the Lord and attended Washington Park United Methodist Church for over twenty years where he married his wife, Julie. He later transferred his membership to Grace United Methodist Church where he served in many positions including as a member of their choir. Doug loved challenges and as a youth attained his Eagle Scout. Doug served in the Air Force while stationed in Hawaii and was honorably discharged. Doug had several college degrees including a masterâs degree from CU in computer science and later worked as a computer operator. He lived out his later years in his home that he shared with Julie at the Cherry Creek Townhomes until he was no longer able to stay there and went to live in the Monaco Parkway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he died peacefully to be joined with his Savior, Jesus Christ, and his wife Julie.
Doug is survived by his sister, Barbara Ann Periman and her husband, Eugene of Blacksburg, Virginia; by his niece, Cathy Periman Tuck and her husband Rick and family of Blue Ridge, Virginia; and his nephew David Alan Periman and his wife Teresa and family of Moyock, North Carolina who loved him dearly. Also Dougâs surrogate family and good friends, Quovadis and Donna King whom he spent many great times and holidays with, who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Arvid Dana and Josephine Grace Smith Dana and brother, Kent Oliver Dana. He leaves us with many wonderful memories to fill the empty place we have in our hearts.
He will be laid to rest with his wife Julie at the Cadiz Union Cemetery in Cadiz, Ohio.
