Charles Alexander ""Charlie"" Gordon, III

Charles Alexander Gordon III “Charlie” of Centennial, Colorado died February 7th, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his beloved Elizabeth “Libby” Gordon. He leaves behind his aunt, Navonna Moran, his devoted first cousins, Sheila Barron, Joan Brewster, Thomas, John, Peter and Sarah Moran (Bunn). He also leaves behind niece Jennifer Libra (Rob), their son Bryce who was the best of friends with Charlie, niece Erin Patscheck and her children, JJ and Kassidy, as well as his loving goddaughter, Molly Brewster Strom and close cousins, Bill Brewster, Laura and Elizabeth Stoll. Charles was born July 16th, 1946 in Long Island, New York. As an elementary student, he was a member of the New York Knickerbocker Greys. He graduated from Gilmour Preparatory Academy, Gates Mills Ohio in 1964. He spent his college years at St. John’s University in New York. Charles enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Upon returning, he continued his career of journalism, writing and reporting. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, March 3rd 10 a.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles name to Gilmour Academy, 34001 Cedar Road, Gates Mills, Ohio 44040.
