Charles Stephen Grant, 97, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on May 3, 2023.
Charlie was born on January 12,1926, to Charles S Grant and Margaret Murtha Grant in Denver, Colorado. After Charlie graduated from Regis High School in 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country during WWII. He then graduated from Denver University in 1950 with a degree in Business.
In 1951, Charlie married Dorothy Marie Russell, and they remained married for 60 years until Dorothy’s passing. They had three children, Kathleen, Stephen, and John, all born in Dallas , Texas where Charlie was employed by Chance-Vought Aircraft. The family then moved back to Denver where Charlie was employed as a project engineer for Martin Marietta Aerospace. During his years at Martin, he worked on the Apollo projects, the Titan projects, the Viking project, and the Star Wars project under Ronald Regan.
Upon retirement, Charlie and Dorothy traveled to many fun destinations with Ports ‘O Call Traveling Club. Charlie and Dorothy enjoyed hosting Bridge parties. Always the consummate host and hostess, memorable holiday meals and gourmet dinners were celebrated at their beautiful home.
Charlie took pride in his yard and he enjoyed a game of golf now and then with his Martin Marietta friends.
Charlie was a man of deep faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He and his brother Harry were devoted volunteers of Eucharistic Adoration at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Charlie is survived by his three children; Kathleen and her husband Rick; Stephen, and John and his wife Dawn. He was the beloved grandfather to Jeffrey (Emily), Scott (Maggie), Brittany (Scott) and Kortney. Charlie was the great-grandfather to 9.
