Charles B. Hemans

Charles B. Hemans, Jr., 69, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

He was born in Auburn, New York and was the son of Jean and Charles Hemans.

Chuck was a Vietnam Veteran having served six years with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a graduate of California State University Fresno with a B.S. in Biology. He was employed by Tulare County Health Department as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist.

Chuck was an avid golfer and a New York Yankee fan.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Harmon); his sons, Andrew C. (Martha) Hemans, of California, Aaron J. (Kori) Hemans, of Colorado; daughter, Brynn S. (Charles) Saponara, of California; granddaughters, Emma and Madisyn Hemans and Dezireah Cerrillo, of California and Reagan Hemans of Colorado; grandsons, Zachary Hemans of California, Aiden Hemans of Colorado and Gordon and Everett Saponara of California; brothers, John, Larry and Thomas Hemans; sister, Peggy Lynn; sisters-in-law, Maureen Walsh and Karen (Robert) Brambley and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held in Colorado at the convenience of his family. Another Celebration of Life will be held in July of 2020 in Auburn, New York.

The family owes a debt of gratitude to the staffs at University of Colorado Health, Anschutz, Aurora, Colorado and Halcyon Hospice for their care of Chuck during the past year.

Contributions in memory of Chuck may be made to any American Veteran organization of your choice.
