Charles E. Holmes

Charles E. Holmes died on December 23, 2016. Charles was born on December 21, 1931 in Wellington, Kansas to Elizabeth and Charles E. Holmes. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas and then moved to Denver, Colorado. He is preceded in death by son-in-law Craig Adams. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Lynn (Lacy), daughter Anne Lacy of Washington D.C., son Charles E. III (Sally) of Boulder, Colorado, and daughter Rebecca Adams of Denver, Colorado, six grandchildren Bradia, Peter, and Olivia Holmes of Boulder and Lacy, Ben, and John Adams of Denver and sister Cathleen McCarthy of Wichita. Charles was in the Air Force and retired as Captain in 1961. He attained his undergraduate degree from Wichita State University and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma. He practiced oil and gas law for over 40 years primarily in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Colorado. A Funeral Mass will be held at Mother of God Church, 475 Logan St., Denver on Friday December 30th at 2:00pm. Donations suggested to a charity of donor's choice.
