Charles Edward Knapp

Charles Edward Knapp, 81, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023.

Charles was born on December 20, 1941, to Alvin and Louise Knapp. He is survived by his wife Anne Knapp, children Chad Knapp, Krista Winston (Rob) and two grandchildren Cooper and Delaney Winston.

“Chuck” grew up in rural Hinsdale Illinois. He graduated from Walther Lutheran High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

An Army Veteran, Chuck proudly served his country in Vietnam. Chuck had a career in banking at Peoples Bank, Interstate Bank, and Omni Bank. He later became a credit counselor while moonlighting at America West Airlines.

Chuck enjoyed vacationing, sporting events, being outdoors, and most of the time…. golf. Chuck had a dry sense of humor. He had a kind gentle soul and was known for his calm demeanor. Above all he loved spending time with his family.  He was actively involved and made it a priority to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s events. He knew all the stats, everyone’s names, and was always willing to help in any way he could. Chuck was an avid sports fan and loved his Broncos, Avalanche and Cubs.  His wife Anne was the most important part of Chuck’s life, they were married for 53 years, and he loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 9^th, 11:00am at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home - 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014. Reception immediately following the service.
