Charles Allen Kutter, age 63, passed away May 12, 2016. Charles was born October 5, 1952 to Harold and Doris Strickland. At age 7, Charles was adopted by the Kutter family and lived in Hankinson, North Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hankinson, North Dakota. When Charles was 13, the family moved to New Effington, South Dakota, where he graduated from High School in 1971. Charles entered the armed services in 1973. Upon his discharge he returned to Hankinson ND to farm until he started working for Richland County, ND. He married to Julie Pahl at Faith Lutheran Church in Effington South Dakota on May 15, 1982. Their son, Nathan was born in 1983. The family moved to Aurora, Colorado in April of 1985 where Charles worked for American Barricade/Strijpe Write and was co-owner of K & R Striping. With the building of Denver International Airport, Charles started honing his skills as a Backhoe Operator. At the time of his death, he worked for Front Range Excavating operating different heavy equipment, but first and foremost, the backhoe. In 2011 Charles moved to Strasburg, Colorado and obtained his life-long dream of owning his own land. He resided there with Debbie Straight and Anita Akers. Charles is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edwin (Eddie ) Strickland. He is survived by his wife; Julie, son; Nathan, 9 siblings; Roberta (Robbie ) Martin, Kitty (Lawrence) Bullinger, Harold ""Butch"" (Patricia) Strickland, Ronald (Sissy) Strickland, Lyle (Nancy) Strickland, Cheryl (Jim) Krump, Marla Lambourn, Kim (Cathy) Sandvik, Kirby Sandvik and 29 nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, 11:00am with a Funeral Service following at 12:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, 80246. Interment will be Monday, May 23, 2016, 12:15pm, Shelter ""C"" at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue Denver, Colorado. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
