Charles J. Swahn

Charles Swahn was born in Brooklyn New York to Edward and Patricia Swahn on June 28, 1932 and died on March 25, 2015. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his four children;Chris and Geri Swahn, Pamela and Eric Schultz, Melissa and John Supron, and Samantha and Michael Majeres, his grandchildren; Jessica, Amanda, Christian, Ryan , Andy, Shannon, Wesley, John, Charlie, Sarah, Kate, Joseph, Lucy, Thomas and Regina; as well his great grandchildren Devlin, Hunter, Owen and Layla. Charles was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He has been a resident of Colorado since 1964, but had also lived in Montreal, Chicago and Tokyo. He was a custom home builder for 50 years, authored and delivered a seminar entitled ""Everything You Wanted to Know About Building A Home But Were Afraid to Ask.""He was interviewed and feature many times in the Denver Post for articles called Builder Beware. As a home builder he was personally involved in about 100 homes built in the Denver metro area. Charles was very active in his faith. He was a secular Franciscan of the St. Francis of the Streets Fraternity in Denver. As a kid Charles loved stick ball which led to a love for baseball. As an adult he played handball and racquetball. He was able to continue playing racquetball into his 50's. He was a Boda Skier. He loved the Denver Broncos and was a devoted fan since 1964. He even threw ""we didn't have a losing season"" party in the 70's. In 1993 the Colorado Rockies became his favorite baseball team. Baseball was his passion, and he was trying to live to see opening day. Charles had a passion about people and for life, family and love. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and always could find a way to make something funny. He had a little Woody Allen in him. He loved to sing songs, and could find one to sing for almost any occasion, even if he had to make it up. He was an animal lover. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served 4 years and having been stationed in Tokyo during the Korean war. He loved to vacation in Mexico. His children also want to remember him as the pancake maker, having been able to make each pancake the way each child like them.
