Charlotte Hubbs

July 4, 1942 — December 16, 2021

Castle Pines, Colorado

Charlotte Ellen McKean Hubbs passed away peacefully in her home on December 16, 2021 with her loving husband Joseph Lloyd by her side.

Charlotte was born on July 4, 1942, in Kansas City Kansas, attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and lovingly called Colorado her home for over 60 years.  In 1963 she married John B. Hubbs, II and they had a son John (Jay) Brewster Hubbs, III.

Her second marriage to Joseph Lloyd in 1979 brought her much happiness and many opportunities to travel which the two of them loved doing together.

When she retired after many years in the business world, she decided to establish her lineage in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).  Her grandmother had been the Regent of her chapter in Missouri and her two great aunts had been active as well.  Discovering the fun of the genealogical search and the wonderful ladies of the DAR, she became an active member and became Colorado’s State Regent in 2009. She had 19 established ancestors back to the American Revolution.

Subsequently, Charlotte became a member of several other lineage societies and associations which kept her busy and active in the community, across the country, and even across international borders.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Joseph and son Jay, daughter-law Laura Heins and two grandsons John Brewster Hubbs, IV and Conrad Hunter Hubbs, as well as a sister Virginia Long and three nephews.
