Charlotte Kronauer

December 1, 1921 — October 14, 2024

Charlotte Marie Quint Kronauer was born in Tuscon, Arizona, at Dec. 1, 1921. She passed in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on Oct. 14, 2024, at 102 years old. Beloved & admired by all who knew her, Charlotte's family & friends mourn her passing and also celebrate with joy as she is welcomed into Heaven.

Charlotte grew up in the loving home of Roy T. & Myrtle Quint, and older siblings, Roy T. Quint, Jr., and Doris "Do" Van Dyke. She met her husband-to-be when he was 11 and she was 9. They were engaged while she was attending the University of Arizona and married in 1941.

So began their life together, first in the U.S. Air Force with tours in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, Okinawa, Boston, Florida, Virginia, California, and Maryland; then, second careers & retirement in Pennsylvania and Colorado.

Charlotte enriched their life by the new friendships she cultivated wherever they went; by her talents in cookings, sewing, singing, gardening & homemaking; and, most especially, by her joy in hospitality, her family and the Lord. She & Cliff welcomed the birth of six children over 18 years.

Charlotte's life was defined by the impact she had for good on her family and all who knew her.

She created a home where everyone wanted to be. With more than 21 moves, she knew how to start life afresh & sustain it meaningfully. Her nurturing love & fun spirit welcomed everyone.

She & Cliff inspired all with their love. Together, they showed what it meant to be sweethearts and devoted partners at every stage of life. It was swoon-worthy to see them on the dance floor, whether in a ballroom or in the kitchen. Cliff was smitten with her always - and cherished her zest for living and vitality.

She lived the Christian life so it's real. Her interest in others was complete and genuine. Wherever she was, she reached out to give love and create connection. God used her sweet presence to bring joy and comfort to all she touched - and to bring them to Him.

She was constantly growing, as a woman, wife, mother & friend. She sensed & embraced what was needed to make life continuously rich & whole. As a result, her adult children & ever-growing extended family returned frequently for happy visits & reunions over decades - with the Welcome sign out always for old friends and new.

She saw the beauty, the best, in every circumstance. She magnified & celebrated goodness; she accepted life's challenges with grace. She inspired us all to be positive and strong.

We thank Charlotte for the immeasurable joy she has given us throughout her beautiful life. She loved as Jesus loves, and embodied the Fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Thankfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 74 years, Clifford J. Kronauer, Jr., and son Mark, and is survived by: Daughter, Donna Sharpe (husband Howard; grandchildren Bryan, Dustin (wife Angela), and Christine Shutt (husband Cody; great-granddaughters Charlotte Ann & Lucy); Daughter Margaret Longo (grandchildren Michael & Katie); Daughter Laura Coffey (husband Michael; grandson Nathan (wife Jessie; great-grandsons Miles, Emmett & Caleb), granddaughter Meghan Phillips (husband Sid; great-grandsons Ethan & Christian); grandson Jason (wife Kelsey; great-grandchildren Wesley & Shiloh); and Son Brad Kronauer (granddaughters Paige and Nicole).

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Red Cross or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Charlotte's honor.
