Our Chelsea Girl, 24, of Bennett, CO. Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 24. Preceded in death by her grandparents Marilyn and Thomas O'Brien, and Lloyd Brack, also her sweet dog Romeo. Daughter of Annie and Byron, Sister of Bryony, Thomas, Benjamin, Francis, and Jacob. Granddaughter of Annabelle Brack. Partner of Daniel Odorizzi. Best Friend of Michael Buntrock. Goddaughter of Joan Underland and Martin O'Brien. Mother of Ollie. Survived by a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. With a bright smile, Chelsea was born on April 24, 1985. She grew up in Bennett surrounded by her loving, large family. As most kids do, she loved swimming, fishing, riding bikes, and having many adventures with Bee, Beno, Frankie, Jake, and Mike. From an early age, Chelsea loved to learn; she enjoyed reading a variety of subjects, but science intrigued her the most. When Chelsea was 8, she was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes. Chelsea fought her disease with grace and a fierce attitude that would shape who she would be become later in life. She enrolled in every research study the Barbara Davis Center offered; she attended Diabetes Camp and hoped to one day find a cure. This focus and devotion transformed Chelsea, which lead to a strong academic career. Her studies proved worthwhile when she graduated from Bennett High School as a Valedictorian in 2003. From there her studies took her to Creighton University in Omaha, but she found her true home at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Here, she was able to study Microbiology, lived with her best roommate, her brother Ben, while also meeting a variety of wonderful people, including Dan. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in 2008, again at the top of her class. Then, despite everyone's plea, she enrolled in the Advanced Nursing Program at Regis University. It was the best program and she wanted to be the best. In one year, she earned her nursing degree, through long hours of studying and the demand on her physical, mental, and emotional health. Clinicals showed Chelsea that this field was truly where she belonged. She served others in anyway she could, making her a wonderful nursing student and future nurse. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in December 2009. She planned to take the State Board Exam on February 4th. She had a very long and wonderful future in front of her, some of her goals being: a rewarding nursing career at Denver General, finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes, a loving marriage, smart, creative kids, more trips to the ocean, Europe, and many more days of hanging out with family and friends. She would fill her days laughing with the ones she loved. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her for the rest of our lives. Love you forever. Miss you always.
