Cheryl Dean Carr

September 20, 1961 — October 23, 2008

Cheryl Dean Carr, 47, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2008, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Cheryl was born on September 20th 1961 in Eatontown, New Jersey to Ronald and Charlotte Carr. Growing up in a military family afforded her the opportunity to experience life from many different perspectives thus encouraging her ever-growing enthusiasm for adventure! She was fortunate to have lived and traveled throughout many states as well as abroad. She gleamed as she reminisced on the wondrous places she had been such as Europe, Korea, Belize, Arizona, California, and Colorado. Traveling was a passion, as she completed one trip you could rest assure the planning for her next trip was already in the works. From Girl Scouts to parenthood-from childhood to adulthood, Cheryl never failed to experience life to its fullest. As a parent she was nurturing, loving and always stood strong. She was a devoted and unselfish mother, always striving to provide the best life she could for Steven and Alton, her two sons. She had a passion for excellence, constantly striving to better herself and those around her. She was employed by the Aurora Housing Authority as their Portfolio Manager. During her professional career she worked in Property Management, Staffing and as a Trainer. Cheryl thrived in challenging environments often accepting employment and business opportunities that allowed for ingenuity, creativity and process improvement. Cheryl's professional accomplishments include a Certificate in Employment Law Accreditation, a Diversity and Multicultural Certificate as well as a Certificate for International Leadership. Cheryl's entrepreneur spirit shinned through as she started her Internet businesses ""Classy Sassy Lady"" and ""Your Travel Biz"". Cheryl experienced challenges and ran into the same walls of resistance that we all struggle with in our careers and personal lives, but never wavered; tearing through these walls with a fierce combination of street smarts, professional knowledge and faith for success. Cheryl's heart was as big as her drive to succeed she believed in giving back to the community and enjoyed the following affiliation: Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Apartment Association of Metro Denver; Society of human Resource Management; Colorado Staffing Association. She exhibited radiance that very few of us possess. If Cheryl could, she would give us all the gift of sight; a truer vision that would enable us all to see the sunset as she did, to bask in the glory of Mother Nature as we look upon the mountains or revel in the beauty of the winds music as it passes our ears. All that truly knew Cheryl will remember her smile was a gift to those in her presence, a gift that could not be bought or sold; her smile was more precious than gold, but her FAITH stood even stronger. Cheryl was a shinning light on earth, motivating and unselfishly encouraging other to embrace life and excel. She was a life force that brought people together. Cheryl was an amazing inspirational force to us all. Cheryl Dean Carr is preceded in death by her sister Michelle Carr. She is survived by her children: Steven Rivera & wife Jessica and her two grandchildren Jasmine and Croix, son Alton Coward of Aurora, CO.
