Family. Faith. Compassion. These were the guideposts that defined the life of a remarkable man. Christian Kent Johnson lived these principles until his death on May 27, 2016 at the age of 80, surrounded by the family he adored. Chris practiced law in the area of estate and philanthropic planning for nearly 50 years, most recently with Buchanan & Stouffer, P.C. in Lakewood, Colorado. Previously, he and his wife, Corky, lived in Ouray, where he founded the Johnson & Link law firm and prior, was in Denver as a partner in Buchanan, Thomas and Johnson. It was Chris' honor to be of service to others, and he was proud to serve in various Board capacities at Craig Hospital for over 30 years. Together with Corky and his children, he founded the Evergreen Foundation in 1996, and was a member of the Colorado Philanthropic Network along with numerous other non-profit and religious organizations. Chris loved music, his work in law, traveling with family, and his fellowship at the Arvada United Methodist Church. He was a voracious reader, delighted in music and theatrical performances, was a devout Rockies fan, and championed anything that his grandchildren were involved in. Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Corky Johnson of Lakewood, his children, Chris (Kelly) Johnson of Golden, Kim (Christopher Carroll) Johnson of Lakewood, Patrick (Bart Story) Jager of Denver, Scott (Linda) Jager of Park City, UT, Betsy Jager of Mission Viejo, CA, and his sister, Judy (Al) McLaren of Lakewood.
