Christiana ""Ann"" Abbott Stong

December 12, 1929 — June 5, 2017

Mrs. Christiana ""Ann"" Abbott Stong, died peacefully Monday the 5th of June at Holly Creek Retirement Community surrounded by family. She was 87-years-old. Born December 12, 1929 in Louisville, KY, Ann was the youngest daughter of Leslie VanArsdale Abbott and Naomi Benson. She graduated from Atherton High School in 1947. Ann met her husband Robert ""Bob"" Stong while pursuing a Home Economics degree at Purdue University in 1948. She graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree. They had two children, Rob and Christy. Ann and Bob shared a happy and blessed marriage for 65-years. Ann is preceded in death by her siblings, Alice Jane Abbott and Leslie Vanarsdale Abbott Jr., and half-brothers Daniel Sears Abbott and Jean Carl Abbott. She is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Stong, her two children, Robert Earl Stong Jr. and Christiana Stong Blakely, her grandchildren, Christiana Lauren Blakely, Allison Blakely Rampley, Weston Keith Stong and Cassandra Ann Stong, and her great-grandson, Andrew David Rampley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Easter Seal Camp Camperships Fund or the Holly Creek Elder Care Fund in Ann's name. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. also at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel.
