Christina Welner

Christina F. "Sissy" Welner was born in 1925 to Lawrence and Catherine (Nelan) Bertelsen in Brooklyn, New York. She passed on January 13, 2022 in Denver, Colorado.

She has left behind her children; Lawrence J. Welner; Christina G. Estell; Robert G. Welner; Gregory W. Welner (Deceased); Georgette F. Purves; Denise C. Quinell; Karen E. Gaines, grandchildren: Gregory Estell; Timothy Welner; Robert Welner; William Welner; Christina Eberle; Catherine Sanders;Tyler Purves; Merrie Wrinn; Lindsey Carpenter; Jenna Desormier, and great grandchildren: Joseph Eberle; Hayes Carpenter; Eleanor Eberle; Sadie Wrinn; Jonathan Sanders; Camden Carpenter; Rosalina Sanders; Quincy Carpenter; Terrance Sanders; Christina Sanders.

Her sisters were Catherine Farley (Deceased); Helen Sommerlad (Deceased); Georgine Brady (Deceased).

She graduated from St. Agnes High School, Brooklyn, NY, and was a sales associate at Sears & Roebuck for years.

Christina was a loving daughter, wife and mother.  She raised seven children with her husband George. They welcomed ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren into the family. Her long life was full of love and happiness. May she rest in peace with her husband George and her son Gregory.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Dumb Friends League.

Service information is as follows:

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19th at 4pm-6pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel in Aurora at 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora CO 80014.

Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday, January 20th at 9:30am at Queen of Peace Catholic Parish at 13120 E Kentucky Ave, Aurora, CO 80012.

Mass will follow immediately at 10am at Queen of Peace.

Graveside will be Friday, January 21st at 9am at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Meet at staging area A at 8:45am.
